Tiger Print

Tiger Print

This month's competition is all about making your mark!
We want you to explore the very fun yet messy realm of mark making - using a variety of tools and techniques. We want you to have fun and build up a collection of wonderful patterns which could be used across a range of our wrap products including gift bags, wrapping paper and tags.
Feel free to explore different techniques and mediums, and even make your own tools to draw with. Think about how different lines and mark making can be applied to create wonderful patterns. Experiment with colour - take a look at Spring/Summer 2016 trends but also consider how impactful monochrome can be or play with pops of colour to show us a fresh and exciting take on the trend. Look out for inspirational posts on our blog in the coming weeks.
To confirm, we are looking for surface pattern design swatches - don’t worry about fitting your patterns to specific products - we are solely looking at patterns! However do still think about how your pattern would transfer and consider playing with scale, placement and line weight etc.
Be Commercial
As always, we’d like you to keep the Marks and Spencer customer in mind. Your design must have a commercial feel that will appeal to either our male or female customer/recipient. Get familiar with the designs we already offer at M&S by popping in to your local store, or go online and check out our everyday range of wraps and gift bags that are on display.
Prize
The winner will receive £200.
