Working from sketchbook drawings

I have scanned in one of my sketchbook drawings, made them into shapes and formed them into an aesthetically pleasing design. I'm really happy with how it has turned out. I think it needs a lot more to it to be a final piece and I am also wanting to do a screeprint too so it doesn't fit (too many colours/difficult textures to print). It does however show me a lot about layout and colour and how the image just 'works'.

I need to make more work like this i feel.
