These are a few bits of progress on my work. I am quite liking how they are going however I feel like the colours probably aren't going that well. In the second image I feel like the work is too line heavy and needs to contain more shapes. The reason that I chose to work like this is because they really liked my city piece which was line heavy. I am a bit annoyed with myself that I started to design work to the way that I thought the client wanted it instead of creating something brand new. What I will do is keep working on this piece and change a lot of it to suit my current process. This will also mean that whoever sees the newspaper will not be seeing an almost outdated illustration but will be seeing who i am and what my practice is at this moment.
