Sissy Kreka- contextual reference

I wanted to do some research into illustrations of historical places to inform me for my work. I wanted to see how illustrators went about illustrating a building- whether they made it really accurate or changed stuff. Upon doing so I found some really great illustrations by Sissy Kreka; these illustrations really stood out to me because although they look lifelike regarding the forms, the colours almost speak otherwise. It is very interesting that the overall forms are accurate however the smaller details, like the shadows, are organic. These are all things to bear in mind for my illustrations.
